Falmouth the premier resort of West. Cornwall has four main beaches and is brimming with boats, watersports, high street shops. Together the futuristic Ships and Castles swimming pool and Pendennis Castle command breathtaking views over this large and busy commercial port. Famous for its springtime Flora Dance, Helston nestles in a wooded valley north of the Lizard Peninsula. Shops, pubs, cobbled alley-ways and the beautiful Coronation Boating Lake help you relax into your holiday.

On the outskirts of Helston is the famous theme park of FLAMBARDS boasting 'Best day of the week' with spectacular award winning indoor Victorian village and 'Britain in the Blitz' exhibitions. There is also the POLDARK MINE at Wendron an all weather attraction tin mine with guided tours, museum, craft shop, restaurant etc. At Helston GOLF & LEISURE spend an afternoon sharpening your handicap. Within 3-4 miles is the NATIONAL SEAL SANCTUARY at Gweek which is situated on the famous Helford River which was immortalised by Daphne du Maurier's FRENCHMAN'S CREEK.

A few minutes drive from Helston is the well known fishing village of Porthleven with quayside pubs and cafes, shops and restaurants. First week in May is the Flora Day celebration in Helston with the well known `Floral Dances' where the whole town is dressed up for processions of dancers through the town alleyways and even shops! - See our Special Offers for this time of year.

Enthusiasts for water skiing, wind sailing can 'wet' their appetite at Stithians Lake very close to Retanna. Another lake that offers lovely walks is Loe Bar which is just to the south of Helston and the largest freshwater lake in Cornwall separated from the sea only by a long sand bar.

The Lizard Peninsula is just through Helston and designated as an area of outstanding beauty. There is also Goonhilly Earth Station (B.T. communications complex) National Trust walks, Mullion and Coverack harbours plus many secret sandy coves for swimming. PRAA SANDS also offers superb swimming, surfing and beach with plenty of facilities. Other attractions such as Lands End, St Michael's Mount, Eden Project, Cornish Market World, Falmouth Maritime Museum and Minack Theatre are all within 60 minutes by car.
